Request a quoteOverview
The SHP-200D-C belongs to the Stuart Undergrad line of stirring hot plates, now sold under the Cole-Parmer name. It combines a 15 x 15 cm glass-ceramic top plate that heats up to 450 °C with a magnetic drive running from 100 to 2000 rpm, enough to mix up to 15 L of liquid. The square plate takes a range of vessel sizes and combinations.
Temperature is regulated by a microprocessor using dual thermocouples, which also guards against overheating, and the actual plate surface temperature is shown on a digital display. A hot warning light flashes whenever the surface is above 50 °C and keeps flashing after the unit is unplugged until the plate has cooled.
The aluminium housing is stackable, rated IP32 and shaped to keep spills away from the controls, and the surfaces carry BioCote antimicrobial treatment. An integral retort rod fitting is provided, and an optional temperature controller allows sample temperature control up to 200 °C. It replaces the earlier Stuart UC152D.
