POL-5 Series Fully Automatic High-Speed Polarimeter
Request a quoteOverview
The POL-5 Series is built on a digital platform in which a high precision photoelectric encoder replaces the worm gear used in conventional polarimeters. This simplifies the mechanics, raises full-range response to 8°/s and completes an average of 6 measurements in 26 seconds, with low noise in standby and operation.
Five models, POL-568, POL-537, POL-533, POL-532 and POL-531, measure optical rotation over ±90° and the International Sugar Scale over ±259°Z, with accuracy from ±0.003° on the POL-568 to ±0.006° on the POL-531 and repeatability of ≤0.002°. Most models include Peltier sample temperature control from 10 to 50°C. A Glan Thompson prism polarizer and an LED source rated for 100,000 hours are used, and the POL-537 offers LED or tungsten halogen versions with up to 8 wavelengths.
The POL-568, POL-537 and POL-533 run an Android system with four user levels, electronic signature and an optional 21 CFR Part 11 audit trail. Applications include sugars, pharmaceuticals, antibiotics, vitamins, amino acids, essential oils and glucose in infusion solutions.
