FACC-Venus Fully Automatic High-Throughput Cell Counter

The FACC-Venus is a fully automatic, high-throughput cell counter for brightfield and trypan blue counting of a wide range of cell types. Used with a six-chamber counting slide, it analyses six samples in one run in under a minute, with single-sample, single-view analysis taking less than one second.

A 6.3-megapixel industrial-grade colour CMOS camera with autofocus captures several fields of view per sample and averages the results, and validation shows a fitted R² above 0.999. A proprietary AI algorithm gives a CV below 10% for single-field and below 5% for multi-field counts, and is optimised for small cells, high-density suspensions, clusters and debris. The counter covers 1×10⁴ to 3×10⁷ cells/mL, cell diameters of 5 to 200 µm and viability from 0 to 100%, using 10 or 20 µL of sample.

The all-in-one unit runs without a PC from a 7-inch multi-touch screen, stores data on a 128 GB drive and exports images and results as JPG, PDF or CSV through USB, HDMI and RJ45 ports. Software features include a dilution calculator, organoid analysis and a LIMS interface.
