Overview

Product overview

The MDS-Tan40 is a microwave digestion workstation for sample preparation in environmental monitoring, food safety, public health, petrochemicals, metallurgy, education and research. A dual magnetron inverter system with high-frequency closed-loop PID control delivers up to 2000 W of continuous, non-pulsed microwave power at 2450 MHz for a uniform field in the cavity.

Four vessel configurations are available: 40 high-pressure vessels of 70 mL, 40 auto-release vessels of 55 mL, 24 high-pressure vessels of 110 mL and 18 ultra high-pressure vessels of 100 mL, rated to 300°C or 320°C and 15 MPa. Inner vessels are TFM and outer vessels aerospace composite fibre with PFA coating. Non-contact mid-infrared sensors at the bottom monitor the solution temperature in every vessel.

A 7-inch colour touch screen shows temperature, power, time and steps with live curves, and a 5-inch screen gives a view inside the cavity. The 316L stainless steel cavity, 3D adjustable explosion-proof door and automatic exhaust cooling to room temperature in under 15 minutes complete the system.

Features

Key features

  • 01

    Dual magnetron inverter

Two magnetrons with closed-loop PID control produce a uniform, continuous microwave field for consistent digestion.

  • 02

    Four vessel options

    Rotors for 40 × 70 mL, 40 × 55 mL auto-release, 24 × 110 mL or 18 × 100 mL ultra high-pressure vessels.

  • 03

    Every-vessel temperature monitoring

Bottom-mounted mid-infrared sensors show the real-time temperature of each sample solution.

  • 04

    Two-screen display

A 7-inch touch screen shows run data and curves, while a 5-inch screen shows the inside of the cavity.

  • 05

    Full-vessel pressure protection

Safety bolt and elastic self-sealing relief designs release pressure only under over-pressure conditions.

  • 06

    Fast cooling

An automatically adjusted exhaust cools the vessels to room temperature in less than 15 minutes.
