Overview

Product overview

The PSA-N802 measures nanoparticle size by dynamic light scattering (DLS) and photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS). It detects fluctuations in scattered light caused by Brownian motion, derives the diffusion coefficient and calculates particle diameter and size distribution using the Stokes-Einstein equation. The measuring range is 0.3 nm to 10000 nm for concentrations of 0.1 to 100 mg/mL, with accuracy and repeatability of ≤1% (CRM D50), to ISO 13321 and ISO 22412.

A 532 nm, 30 mW semiconductor laser and a Hamamatsu PMT at a 90° scattering angle give high sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio. The CR256 digital correlator resolves signal fluctuations down to 8 ns, with 256 autocorrelation channels and data processing speed up to 162M. The PCS detection path uses optical fiber for a compact, interference-resistant design, and semiconductor temperature control holds samples between 5 and 90°C within ±0.1°C.

Results include average diameter, distribution, percentiles D10 to D100 and mean diameters such as D[4,3] and D[3,2], using NNSL, multi-peak or CONTIN analysis. Tests take ≤5 minutes, and an optional audit trail supports 21 CFR Part 11. It is used in product labs, research facilities and universities.
