Overview

Product overview

The GEP-GCH-100Y is a blue light transilluminator for observing and cutting nucleic acid agarose gels after electrophoresis. LEDs transmit 470 nm blue light from the bottom of the unit, avoiding the scattering and diffraction caused by side lighting and improving observation and photography quality.

Because it uses blue LED light rather than UV, it does not harm the eyes or skin of the operator and does not damage samples. It works with most common stains, including SYBR Green I, GelRed, GelGreen, SYBR Safe, Goldview, SYBR Gold, SYPRO Ruby, eGFP, Cy2, FITC and EB.

The viewing and cutting area measures 20 × 15 cm. The unit has a durable aluminum alloy housing, a filter visor that can be stopped at any angle, and switches off automatically after 5 minutes.

Features

Key features

  • 01

    UV-free blue light

470 nm LED illumination avoids UV damage to the operator's eyes and skin and to the samples.

  • 02

    Bottom illumination

Light is transmitted from below to avoid scattering and diffraction from side lighting.

  • 03

    Broad stain compatibility

Works with SYBR Green I, GelRed, GelGreen, SYBR Safe, Goldview, EB and many other dyes.

  • 04

    Adjustable filter visor

The amber visor filters blue light and can be stopped at any angle to suit each user.

  • 05

    Auto power off

The unit switches off automatically after 5 minutes to save energy and LED life.
