Product overview
The LabTech DigiBlock line provides open hot block digestion for metals analysis and organic sample digestion. LabTech notes that sample preparation takes about 85% of the time associated with atomic spectroscopy analysis, so quality, ease of use and speed of digestion are central.
The line has eight models: the ED16S, ED36S, ED54S and EHD36S, each also available as an iTOUCH version. Blocks are PTFE coated aluminum alloy or PTFE coated graphite, hold from 16 x 100 mL to 54 x 50 mL tubes, and reach 210, 240 or 450 °C depending on model. Rapid open digestions of up to 54 organic samples with a dry weight of several grams each are possible, using low cost disposable tubes.
iTOUCH versions come with a separate controller on a 2 m cable that attaches by magnets to any metal surface, such as the side of a fume hood or outside a laminar flow cabinet, to control the whole digestion process.
