What is an ultra-low temperature (ULT) freezer used for?
ULT freezers hold −80 to −86 °C for long-term storage of cell lines, enzymes, nucleic acids, tissue and other sensitive biological material that degrades at −20 °C.
Can freezers be built to a custom size?
Yes. ALMAS is Al-Shaker's own OEM cold-storage line and builds laboratory refrigerators, freezers and custom walk-in units for sites where standard cabinets do not fit.
How do I protect samples during a power cut?
Specify battery-backed alarms, remote alarm contacts and, for critical collections, backup power or a CO₂/LN₂ backup system. Keep the unit well filled and avoid frequent door opening.
