Product overview
Clear Weld Heat Seal is an optically clear polymer film that forms a permanent weld to polypropylene plates. Its clarity allows imaging through the seal for qPCR and colorimetric assays, and it holds a complete seal across a range from -80 °C storage to high-temperature incubation.
The seal is suitable for PCR and qPCR even without a pressurized heated lid and works in water-bath thermal cyclers. Because it cannot be peeled and is difficult to pierce, it is also used for long-term compound storage and for sealing hazardous material before disposal; samples can be accessed by pre-piercing with a blade, needle or pierce plate. It resists DMSO and solvents and can be autoclaved.
The film comes as 125 x 78 mm sheets for manual and semi-automated sheet sealers, and in several roll sizes for the Azenta Automated Roll Heat Sealer and other automated sealers.
