Request a quoteOverview
CoolBox XT is a compact benchtop workstation that keeps samples cold or frozen without ice, electricity or batteries. A core is frozen at -20 °C and placed in the insulated base; a CoolRack module holding tubes or plates sits on the core and equilibrates by thermal conduction.
With a cooling core it holds samples at a uniform 0.5 to 4 °C for up to 16 hours with the lid closed, and with a freezing core it keeps them below 0 °C for up to 8 hours. A built-in 1-8 °C indicator gives visual confirmation of temperature, and duration can be extended by swapping in a second frozen core. Dry ice can replace the core for snap freezing.
The small footprint suits use inside a hood for temperature-sensitive reagents, enzymes and samples. It accepts most CoolRack modules, and combination packs are offered for PCR plates, PCR strips, cryotubes and microtubes.
