Product overview

This 0.5 ml external-thread tube from the FluidX range is designed for long-term sample tracking in biobanks, compound libraries and other biological or chemical stores, including cryogenic storage in the vapor phase. Each tube carries a unique, high-contrast 2D code laser-etched into its base, giving a permanent link between the sample and its data.

The codes can be read without removing tubes from the rack and remain readable through frost, condensation or minor damage. Every tube is 100% checked for readability and uniqueness and leak tested. The external thread provides more working volume than internal-thread tubes, and the tubes work with Azenta and other industry-standard readers, cappers and automated stores.

Tubes are sealed with screw caps, whose compression seal and 180° double-start thread suit automated capping, or with TPE septum caps for occasionally accessed samples. The 96-format SBS racks feature TwistLock, TubeLock and LidLock options and a rack 2D code for automatic orientation, and rack bases contain up to 90% recycled polypropylene.
