Product overview
The IntelliXcap 96-format is an automated screw-cap decapper and recapper for laboratories that manage biobank samples or compound libraries in racked 2D-coded tubes. It removes or replaces the caps on a complete 96-tube rack in 20 to 40 seconds, cutting manual handling time and repetitive strain.
Its modular design is built around interchangeable cap-driver cartridges. Swapping a cartridge changes the instrument to a different tube type in under two minutes without a service engineer, and cartridges exist for both internal and external thread tubes. With the right cartridge it works with all Azenta storage tubes and many 96-format tubes from other makers.
Operation is through a simple touch panel, and electric torque control reduces wear on the cap drivers. An extended rack stage is available so the unit can be integrated into fully automated workflows.
