Product overview
The Semi-Automated Sheet Heat Sealer, formerly IntelliXseal SA, is a compact 9 kg benchtop unit for sealing microplates, PCR plates, assay plates and deep-well storage plates with precut seal sheets. The user places plate and seal on the holder and presses Operate; the drawer closes and an electric mechanism carries out the seal, removing operator variation.
Temperature is adjustable from 60 to 200 °C with a real-time display, and a rapid heating element brings the unit to temperature within minutes. When idle it drops to a 60 °C standby and later switches off, with both timings adjustable by the user.
A low-cost adapter system covers different plate types: the standard carrier for deep-well and most skirted plates is included, with optional carriers for 96 and 384-well PCR plates, Roche 1536 plates, storage plates and Individual Access plates. A weighted platen and sealing frame help with films that tend to curl, and an RS-232 port allows integration into automated systems.
