Product overview
2×YT Agar is a nutrient-rich, agar-solidified medium for growing E. coli to high density and for propagating phages, including M13 and other ssDNA phages.
Tryptone and yeast extract supply carbon and nitrogen sources, vitamins and minerals, sodium chloride keeps the osmotic pressure balanced, and agar sets the gel. It is prepared by suspending 46.0 g in 1 L of purified water and autoclaving.
