These frits are used in disposable DNA synthesis columns to stop the costly CPG (controlled-pore glass) particles from being released.

The pore size is tuned so that, when liquid flows upward, the CPG particles rise and stay in suspension and mix properly. Two diameters (2.5 mm and 4.1 mm, both 2.5 mm thick) are listed, each with 20 µm, 50 µm or 80 µm pore size, packed 1,000 per pack.
