Request a quoteOverview
Biocomma SPE/Flash column frits are made with a special process that covers careful raw-material selection, mold optimization, flow-rate testing and ERP-based traceability. Frits with different pore sizes are available to meet the needs of small-particle sorbents under gravity flow.
The UHMW-PE raw material has a water absorption below 0.01%, a more even particle diameter and strict solvent-compatibility testing. Precision molding assures accurate frit diameter and a close fit with the inner diameter of the column tube, and each batch is tested so flow rate stays stable between batches. Frit diameter relative to the empty column tube matters for flow; Biocomma gives the example of a 9.0 mm, 40%-porosity frit whose pore is reduced by 37.24% if its diameter is compressed by 0.2 mm.
Pore sizes of 80-100 µm suit gravity flow and sizes below 20 µm suit small-particle sorbents. Catalog sizes run from 5.8 mm to 49.5 mm in diameter, with custom options.

Precision molding matches the frit to the column tube inner diameter for stable flow.
Each batch is tested to keep flow rate stable from batch to batch.
80-100 µm for gravity flow; below 20 µm for small-particle sorbents.
