Product overview
Brain Heart Infusion (BHI) Broth is a nutrient-rich liquid medium prepared at 37.0 g per litre with a final pH of 7.4±0.2. The dehydrated powder (GF1013F) is stated for the enrichment of Staphylococcus aureus and the culture of fastidious organisms, carries an ISO 6888 reference and is made from calf brain and beef heart infusions with an enzymatic digest of animal tissues.
The granulated form (KL1013F) is stated for the pure culture of Staphylococcus aureus and of nutritionally demanding bacteria, and uses a tryptone and beef heart powder formulation. Both are autoclaved at 121 °C for 15 minutes. Shelf life is 5 years for the dehydrated powder (stored at 2-25 °C) and 3 years for the granulated form.
