Product overview
Brilliant Green Lactose Bile Broth (BGLB) is used for the detection or confirmation of members of the coli-aerogenes group. Peptone and lactose provide the fermentable base, while oxgall (20 g/L) and brilliant green (0.0133 g/L) provide selectivity; the final pH is 7.2±0.1.
Suspend 40.0 g in 1 L of distilled water, boil with frequent agitation to dissolve, dispense into tubes containing inverted Durham tubes and autoclave at 121 °C for 15 minutes. Dehydrated powder (GF1008F) and granulated (KL1008F) forms are stored dry and away from light, with the cap tightened after use, and have a 3-year sealed shelf life.
