Product overview
Buffered Peptone Water is a pre-enrichment medium used before selective culture of Salmonella, Listeria, enteropathogenic Escherichia coli and Enterobacteriaceae. Peptone supplies nutrients, and disodium and monopotassium phosphates provide buffering around a final pH of 7.2±0.2.
Suspend 20.1 g in 1 L of purified water, boil with frequent agitation to dissolve and autoclave at 121 °C for 15 minutes. It is supplied as dehydrated powder (GF1027F, 5-year shelf life) and granulated (KL1027F, 3-year shelf life); both are stored dry and away from light with the cap tightened after use.
