Burkholderia Cepacia Selective Agar Base is listed for the selective isolation of Burkholderia cepacia from onions. The base is built on tryptone with sucrose, sodium pyruvate, yeast extract and phosphate, and uses phenol red as the pH indicator.
The powder is suspended at 41.06 g per litre of purified water, boiled to dissolve and autoclaved at 121 °C for 15 minutes. After cooling to about 50 °C, one vial of supplement TJ077F is added to every 200 mL of base and mixed well. Final pH is 6.2±0.2.
