Request a quoteOverview
Candida Chromogenic Agar is used for the qualitative direct detection, differentiation and presumptive identification of Candida species. Chloramphenicol is part of the formulation, and a chromogenic mix colours the colonies by species: C. albicans green, C. tropicalis blue, C. glabrata pink and C. krusei red.
Two product codes are published. GF625AF contains a chromogenic mix at 22 g/L, has a final pH of 6.1±0.2 and a sealed shelf life of 2 years. GF659F is a glucose- and pigment-based formulation (final pH 5.9±0.2) stored at 2-25 °C with a 3-year shelf life. Both are prepared at 47.7 g per litre of purified water, boiled to dissolve and need no autoclaving. The colony colours listed here come from the GF625AF page.
