Request a quoteOverview
Cetrimide Agar is used for the selective enrichment of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in pharmaceutical products. A pancreatic gelatin digest forms the nutrient base, magnesium chloride and potassium sulfate support the organism, and cetrimide (0.3 g/L) provides selectivity.
The powder is suspended at 45.3 g per litre of purified water with 10 mL of glycerol, boiled to dissolve and autoclaved at 121 °C for 15 minutes. Final pH is 7.4±0.2 and sealed product has a 3-year shelf life at 2-25 °C.
