Overview

Product overview

Copure® C8 is a moderately hydrophobic reversed-phase silica sorbent that retains non-polar compounds through hydrophobic interactions. Its carbon chains are shorter than those of C18, so non-polar retention is weaker.

That makes C8 a useful alternative to C18 when target compounds are over-retained and difficult to elute. Typical applications include fat- and water-soluble vitamins in plasma, hormone residues in meat, pesticide residues in waste, and desalting of biomolecules.

Features

Key features

  • 01

    Moderate hydrophobicity

Weaker non-polar retention than C18 thanks to the shorter carbon chain.

  • 02

    Rescue for over-retained analytes

Suited to substances that are retained too strongly on C18.

  • 03

    Vitamin analysis

Extraction of fat-soluble and water-soluble vitamins from plasma.

  • 04

    Residue testing

Hormone residues in meat and pesticide residues in waste.

  • 05

    Biomolecule desalting

    Desalting of biomolecules.
