Overview

Product overview

Copure® C8/SCX is a mixed-mode strong cation exchange adsorbent on a silica matrix, co-filled with benzene sulfonic acid. The negatively charged sulfonic acid groups provide strong cation exchange, while the benzene rings add hydrophobic retention. It extracts positively charged basic compounds such as amines.

The sulfonic acid has a low pKa, and its charge state can be adjusted with pH, which makes elution easier. Applications include pesticide and antibiotic residues in food such as macrolides, drugs of abuse such as amphetamines, and drugs and metabolites in biological matrices.
