Copure® HPLC columns for preservatives are designed specifically for detecting food preservatives such as benzoic acid, sorbic acid and dehydroacetic acid.
The example test on the HC18PS01 column (4.6 × 250 mm, 5 μm), using 20 mmol/L ammonium acetate buffer at pH 7.5, 1.0 mL/min, 30 °C and 230 nm, separates acesulfame, benzoic acid, sorbic acid, dehydroacetic acid and saccharin with resolutions of 3.46 to 6.43 between adjacent peaks and tailing factors from 1.11 to 1.51.
Two catalog items are listed: HC18PS01 (4.6 × 250 mm) and HC18PS03 (4.6 × 150 mm), both 5 μm, one unit per box.
