Product overview
Cronobacter Screening Broth Base is used for the selective enrichment of Cronobacter, also known as Enterobacter sakazakii. The formula contains enzymatic digests of animal tissues, beef extract, sodium chloride and 10 g/L sucrose, with bromocresol purple at 0.04 g/L as the indicator.
Suspend 28.04 g in 1 L of distilled water, boil with frequent agitation until dissolved, dispense into conical flasks and autoclave at 121 °C for 15 minutes. After cooling to about 50 °C add 1 mL of vancomycin per 100 mL of medium, mix well and dispense into sterile test tubes at 10 mL per tube. The final pH is 7.4 ± 0.2.
Powder (GF1092F) and granulated (KL1092F) forms share one composition and a 3-year sealed shelf life. Not for clinical use.
