Product overview
CT-Sorbitol MacConkey Agar Base is a dehydrated base medium listed for the isolation of Escherichia coli O157:H7. In place of lactose, it uses sorbitol as the carbohydrate, with bile salts, neutral red and crystal violet in the formulation.
The powder is prepared at 51.5 g per litre of purified water and autoclaved at 121 °C for 15 minutes. After cooling below 50 °C, one vial of supplement TJ030F is aseptically added to every 200 mL of base. Final pH is 7.2±0.2 and the sealed product has a 3-year shelf life.

- Not for clinical use. Do not use if the powder is lumpy. After use, autoclave all contaminated materials at 121 °C for 30 minutes before disposal.
