Request a quoteOverview
Deoxycholate Hydrogen Sulfide Lactose Agar is used for the selective separation of Salmonella. The formula includes lactose and sucrose as carbohydrates, sodium deoxycholate and sodium citrate as selective agents, sodium thiosulfate with ammonium ferric citrate for sulfide detection, and neutral red as the pH indicator, in a 15 g/L agar base.
Suspend 63.3 g in 1 L of distilled or deionized water and boil with frequent agitation until dissolved. No autoclaving is required: cool to about 50 °C, pour into sterile plates and let them set. The final pH is 7.3 ± 0.2.
Dehydrated powder (GF1130F) and granulated (KL1130F) versions share one composition. The product is not for clinical use.
