Request a quoteOverview
Dichloran-Glycerol (DG18) Agar Base is used for the selective separation and culture of osmophilic yeasts, particularly those found in honey. The base contains casein peptone, glucose, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, magnesium sulfate, chlornithine, chloramphenicol and agar, with a final pH of 5.6±0.2.
Suspend 31.6 g in 1 L of distilled or deionized water, boil with frequent agitation to dissolve, then add 200 g of glycerol, mix well and autoclave at 121 °C for 15 minutes. Dehydrated powder (GF1074F) and granulated (KL1074F) forms are both stored in the dark at room temperature and have a 3-year sealed shelf life.
