E. coli O157:H7 Chromogenic Agar
Request a quoteOverview
This chromogenic agar is formulated for the rapid isolation and detection of Escherichia coli O157:H7. A chromogenic mixture turns O157:H7 colonies magenta, while other E. coli appear as blue-green colonies, so the target serotype can be picked out visually on the plate.
The medium is supplied as a dehydrated powder: suspend 29.2 g in 1 L of purified water, bring to the boil to dissolve and cool to 45-50 °C before pouring. It must not be overheated or autoclaved. The manufacturer's reference photographs include E. coli O157:H7, E. coli ATCC 25922, Proteus mirabilis and Enterococcus faecalis.
For research use only; not for clinical testing.
