- Weigh 50 g into 1 L of distilled or deionized water; stir and heat to boiling until dissolved; autoclave at 121 °C for 15 min; cool to about 50 °C, add 10-15 mL of 50% sterile egg yolk saline suspension per 100 mL of medium, mix and pour plates immediately.

Product overview
Egg Yolk Agar Base is used for the lecithinase test of Burkholderia gladioli. The base combines meat infusion, peptone, sodium chloride, glucose and agar (final pH 7.0±0.2) and is completed with egg yolk after sterilization.
Weigh 50 g into 1 L of distilled or deionized water, boil until dissolved and autoclave at 121 °C for 15 minutes. Cool to about 50 °C, add 10-15 mL of 50% sterile egg yolk saline suspension per 100 mL of medium, mix thoroughly and pour into plates immediately; let the plates solidify before use. Available as dehydrated powder (GF1099F) and granulated (KL1099F), each with a 3-year sealed shelf life.
