Request a quoteOverview
Fraser Broth (FB1/FB2) Base is used for the selective enrichment of Listeria monocytogenes, and the granulated listing notes ISO. The base contains enzymatic digests of animal tissues and casein, meat extract, yeast extract, 20.0 g/L sodium chloride, a phosphate buffer and 1.0 g/L aesculin.
Suspend 57.4 g in 1 L of purified water, heat with frequent agitation until dissolved, autoclave at 121 °C for 15 minutes and cool to 50 °C. For FB1, aseptically add one set (A+B) of supplement TJ049F per 225 mL of base. For FB2, add one set of supplements TJ071F and TJ072F per 100 mL of base. The final pH is 7.2 ± 0.2.
Powder (GF1182F) and granulated (KL1182F) versions share one composition and a 5-year sealed shelf life, stored in a dark, dry place at 2-25 °C. The product is not for clinical use.
