Overview

Product overview

Copure® HLB cartridges use a sorbent made by a special copolymerization technique, with a defined ratio of hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups. The hydrophobic divinylbenzene structure retains non-polar compounds, while the hydrophilic N-vinylpyrrolidone structure retains polar compounds. The sorbent wets well in water, and the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance can be adjusted through the aqueous phase to reach the desired selectivity.

HLB gives good recovery of acidic, neutral and basic compounds from non-polar to moderately polar, and is particularly suitable for complex matrices such as blood, urine and food. Its adsorption capacity and sample load are 3-10 times higher than C18 bonded silica, and it withstands pH 1-14 and most solvents.

Applications include drugs and illegal substances in blood (antidepressants, heroin), antibiotics, catecholamines and microcystins in animal-derived foods, and tetracyclines, quinolones, pesticides and mycotoxins in dairy products. Application notes cover doxycycline residues in eggs and multi-residue veterinary drugs in meat by LC-MS/MS.
