Product overview
Lactose Bile Fermentation Broth is used for the detection of coliform bacteria in water, foods and dairy products. The formulation contains peptone (20 g/L), ox bile salts (5 g/L), lactose (10 g/L) and bromocresol purple (0.01 g/L), with a final pH of 7.4±0.2.
Suspend 35.8 g in 1 L of distilled or deionized water and boil with frequent agitation to dissolve. Dispense 10 mL per test tube containing small inverted tubes and autoclave at 115 °C for 20 minutes. Dehydrated powder (GF1051F) has a 5-year sealed shelf life and the granulated form (KL1051F) 3 years.
