Product overview
LB Broth (Lennox) is used for cultivating Escherichia coli in molecular biology experiments, following Molecular Cloning: A Laboratory Manual, 4th Edition. The pH 7.0 version suits general bacterial culture, strain maintenance and routine use; the pH 7.5 version is optimised for molecular cloning, plasmid preparation, high-density culture and protein expression.
The formula is 10 g/L tryptone, 5 g/L yeast extract and 5 g/L sodium chloride. Suspend 20.0 g in 1 L of purified water, boil to dissolve and autoclave.
