Overview

Product overview

MacConkey Broth is a four-component liquid medium of gelatin pancreatic hydrolysate (20 g/L), lactose (10 g/L), bile salts (5 g/L) and bromocresol purple (0.01 g/L), prepared at 35.0 g per litre with a final pH of 7.3±0.2. Formulation A (GF1021F powder, KL1021F granulated) is used for the presumptive identification of coliforms and is dispensed at 10 mL per tube.

Formulation B (GF616F) is stated for the selective enrichment of intestinal pathogenic bacteria (CP/EP/USP) and is stored at 2-25 °C. Both are autoclaved at 121 °C for 15 minutes and have a 3-year sealed shelf life.
