Product overview
Modified EC Broth is used for the selective enrichment of enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O157:H7. The base contains tryptone (20.0 g/L), lactose, a reduced level of bile salt No. 3 (1.1 g/L), phosphate buffers and sodium chloride, with a final pH of 6.9±0.2.
Weigh 36.62 g into 1000 mL of distilled water and autoclave at 121 °C for 15 minutes. After cooling to below 50 °C, add filter-sterilized novobiocin solution to reach a final concentration of 20 mg/L. Dehydrated powder (GF1033F) and granulated (KL1033F) forms are stored in a dark, dry place at room temperature and have a 3-year sealed shelf life.
