Product overview
MRS Broth is used for the isolation, enumeration and cultivation of lactic acid bacteria. The formulation pairs peptone, beef extract and yeast extract with glucose, Tween 80, acetate, citrate and phosphate, plus magnesium and manganese sulfates.
The dehydrated powder is prepared at 55.2 g per litre of purified water, boiled to dissolve, distributed and autoclaved at 121 °C for 15 minutes. Final pH is 6.2±0.2 and sealed product keeps for 3 years at 2-25 °C.
