Product overview
Plate Count Agar (PCA) is used for obtaining microbial plate counts. The formula is deliberately simple: tryptone, yeast extract, dextrose and agar, with no selective agents. The GF1001F listing references ISO 4833.
Suspend 23.5 g in 1 L of purified water, heat with frequent agitation and boil until completely dissolved, then distribute and autoclave at 121 °C for 15 minutes. The final pH is 7.0 ± 0.2.
Both the dehydrated powder (GF1001F) and the granulated version (KL1001F) are listed with the same composition and a 5-year sealed shelf life, stored in a dark, dry place at 2-25 °C. The product is not for clinical use.
