Overview

Product overview

Proteinase K is a broad-spectrum serine protease with a relative molecular weight of approximately 29.3 kDa. It cleaves the carboxy-terminal peptide bonds of aliphatic and aromatic amino acids.

It is applied in research on enzymatic glycated hemoglobin and glycated albumin reagents, and is a key reagent in nucleic acid extraction, where it enzymatically hydrolyses the histones bound to nucleic acids to free the DNA for subsequent purification. Supplied as powder in 100 mg, 1 g, 50 g and 100 g bottles.
