Request a quoteOverview
Rappaport-Vassiliadis Broth is used for the selective enrichment of Salmonella. It combines soy peptone and phosphate buffer with a high magnesium chloride content (13.58 g/L) and 0.036 g/L malachite green, and has a low final pH of 5.2 ± 0.2.
Suspend 27.1 g in 1 L of water, heat with frequent agitation and boil to dissolve. For the GF1046F and KL1046F listings the broth is divided into test tubes at 10 mL per tube and autoclaved at 115 °C for 15 minutes, then cooled to room temperature. The GF618F listing gives the same dissolution step and the same 115 °C, 15-minute autoclave cycle.
The three catalogue codes share one published composition and a 3-year sealed shelf life. The GF618F listing specifies storage in a dark, dry place at 2-25 °C. The product is not for clinical use.
