Product overview
Shigella Broth Base is used for the selective enrichment of Shigella. The formula contains 20.0 g/L enzymatic casein digest, a potassium phosphate buffer, sodium chloride, D(+)-glucose and 1.5 mL/L Tween 80.
Suspend 31.5 g in 1 L of purified water, boil with frequent agitation until dissolved, dispense 225 mL into each flask and autoclave at 121 °C for 15 minutes. Cool to below 50 °C and aseptically add one vial of supplement (Cat. TJ006F) per 225 mL of base medium, then mix well. The final pH is 7.0 ± 0.2.
Sealed shelf life is 5 years, stored in a dark, dry place at 2-25 °C. Not for clinical use.
