Product overview
The Biocomma silica membrane is a key component in spin-column-based nucleic acid purification. Under low-pH and chaotropic conditions, nucleic acids bind specifically to the silica membrane while polysaccharides and proteins pass through. Impurities are removed by washing, and nucleic acids are then desorbed and eluted from the membrane under low-salt conditions.
The membrane gives high yield and good reproducibility and is suitable for spin columns or plates. It is supplied as 210×297 mm sheets in packs of 100 (Y-SM-BC-1), and custom options are listed.
