Product overview
SOB Agar is the agar-solidified form of SOB medium, used for cultivating E. coli and in the preparation and transformation of competent cells, where it helps raise transformation efficiency.
The formulation combines 20 g/L tryptone and 5 g/L yeast extract with sodium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium sulfate and 15 g/L agar. Suspend 43.0 g in 1 L of purified water, boil to dissolve and autoclave.
