Request a quoteOverview
Soy peptone is a plant-derived nitrogen source for the culture of engineered strains and other microorganisms. It is made from non-genetically modified soybeans or soybean meal by enzymatic digestion (for example with papain), followed by filtration, concentration and spray drying, giving a fine light-yellow powder.
It is rich in vitamins, particularly thiamine, and contains substantial carbohydrates, supplying nitrogen, peptides, amino acids, vitamins and other growth-promoting factors to a wide range of culture media. Add it according to the medium formulation.
