Overview

Product overview

Terrific Broth (TB) is used for protein expression in E. coli, following Molecular Cloning: A Laboratory Manual, 4th Edition. It is particularly suitable for high-density fermentation and high-level recombinant protein production.

Tryptone (12 g/L) and yeast extract (14 g/L) provide nitrogen sources, vitamins and growth factors, and the phosphate salts KH₂PO₄ and K₂HPO₄ are included in the formula. To prepare, suspend 50.9 g in 1 L of purified water, boil to dissolve, add 4 mL of glycerol and autoclave.
