Product overview
Trypticase Soy Sheep Blood Agar (TSSB) is used for the enumeration and selective cultivation of Bacillus cereus. The base combines tryptone, soy peptone, sodium chloride, dipotassium phosphate, glucose and agar (final pH 7.0±0.2) and is completed with sterile defibrinated sheep blood.
Weigh 45.0 g and dissolve in 1000 mL of distilled water with heat and stirring; dispense 100 mL per flask and autoclave at 121 °C for 15 minutes. Cool to 45-50 °C, aseptically add 5-10 mL of sterile defibrinated sheep blood, mix thoroughly and pour 18-20 mL per plate. Sealed product has a 3-year shelf life when kept in a dark, dry place at room temperature.
