Product overview
Tryptose Sulfite Cycloserine (TSC) Agar Base is used for the isolation, culture and enumeration of Clostridium perfringens in food and clinical samples. The base contains tryptone, soy peptone, yeast extract, sodium metabisulfite, ammonium ferric citrate and agar, with a final pH of 7.6±0.2.
Weigh 42 g into 1 L of distilled or deionized water and boil until dissolved; dispense 250 mL aliquots and sterilize at 121 °C for 15 minutes. At about 50 °C, add one vial of supplement per 100 mL of base; for egg yolk agar plates, add 10 mL of 50% egg yolk emulsion per 100 mL of medium, mix immediately and pour. Dehydrated powder (GF1075F) and granulated (KL1075F) forms have a 3-year sealed shelf life.
