Product overview
Yeast Extract Agar is intended for the enumeration of a wide spectrum of bacteria, yeasts and molds in water, and the product page cites ISO 6222. The formulation is deliberately simple: tryptone, yeast extract and agar.
The powder is prepared at 24.0 g per litre of purified water, boiled to dissolve, distributed and autoclaved at 121 °C for 15 minutes. Final pH is 7.2±0.2 and sealed product has a 3-year shelf life when stored dark and dry at 2-25 °C.
