Overview

Product overview

YPDA Agar is a rich, agar-solidified yeast medium for the cultivation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Pichia pastoris. Peptone and yeast extract supply nitrogen, vitamins and growth factors, and D-glucose is the carbon source.

Adenine sulfate suppresses reversion mutations at the ade1 and ade2 loci of the yeast genome, which reduces the proportion of red yeast colonies. The product is based on a classical formulation. Suspend 70.0 g in 1 L of distilled water, boil to dissolve and autoclave at 121 °C for 15 minutes.
